Christian Belady, general manager of data center services for Microsoft, confirmed the opening of a new center for the disposal of the calculations in the cloud at West Des Moines, Iowa. The investment of the remarkable figure of $ 670 million will support "the growing demand for services falling cloud," said Belady. Microsoft will allocate progressively more resources on its network infrastructure, to reach a total investment of one billion dollars within the next six years.
The modeling of physical, fluid dynamics and movements of the tissues may be entrusted to the cloud without causing latency for gameplay, supporting Microsoft engineers. "For every Xbox One that is in a living room users there are three computers in the cloud ready to process this type of graphic elements," they say.
"We are making sure that every developer can be assumed to have three calculation unit immediately available at all times so you can costreuire large and persistent levels of play," said Belady at the Des Moines Register.
All this will allow Xbox Live to be "more powerful, more personal and more intelligent" in the case of Xbox One respect to the support for Xbox 360, says Marc Whitten, corporate vice president of Microsoft. But the new data center will also have a professionaole use as well as gaming, since it will serve as a support for Office 365.
As previously disclosed, the cloud architecture that will underpin next generation of Xbox Live for Xbox One will be based on 300,000 servers, while for the original Xbox Live only used it 3000.
